About Me
Hello!
My name is Camille Fastle, and one of the things I love in life is supporting kids to be their highest and best.
I somehow knew from my early twenties that I was destined to work with children, even before I had children of my own.
When my children did come along, I had them in a co-op preschool, where the parents participated in daily classroom life.
When they were old enough for Kindergarten I enrolled them in the local Waldorf School, where daily class interaction was not exactly encouraged, but I ended up working for the school as the Business Manager, so lo and behold, there I was amidst the children. It was in that environment that I learned the meaning of it “taking a village to raise a child”. I saw that every child was my responsibility, not just my own children.
When my children got to high school they had a tight-knit group of friends. I created something for them that I called the “Cooking Club”. This was an afternoon gathering of kids who wanted to learn to cook, and just hang out. We would concoct and discuss, and for those who were brave, sit down and eat our creations.
Time went by and after my children were out of the house and on their own, I created a lunch delivery program at the Waldorf School. Each child would receive a daily lunch box filled with well-balanced vegetarian snacks and main meal. This worked for the school year, then during the summers I offered a “Cooking Camp and Life Skills Program”. With more than 60 kids over the course of the summer, we learned fancy napkin folding, table manners, nutrition, and indeed, how to cook a wide variety of dishes in several cuisines.
In recent years I created a Children’s Program at the Spiritual Center I attend and shepherded the young ones through spiritual principles and studies. (Honestly, I think they taught me more than I taught them).
When I was introduced to the concepts of Human Design, I immediately saw the importance of having this information available to young parents. My mission statement is “To empower parents to raise their children to be who they are meant to be; according to the child’s Human Design”.
Imagine if our parents had had access to these concepts when we were growing up. The world would be a different place, and that is my goal: a world what works for everyone through mutual respect and understanding of our unique differentiation.
